OSAA Transgender Policy
The OSAA received a copy of the "Guidance to School Districts: Creating a Safe and Supportive School Environment for Transgender Students" issued on May 5, 2016. That document states on page 12 "School Districts should also review guidance provided by the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) relating to participation in competitive high school inter-school athletic activities." We plan to review the current language in our "Transgender Student Participation" Board Policy with our Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, our legal counsel and our Executive Board over the summer to determine if any changes to this policy should be considered.

NOTE: Contests not affected by this policy include bracketed contests at tournaments, league tiebreakers, and district/league tournaments.
