With league underway for nearly everyone across the state, we’re doing our first check in of the girls basketball season on what the state tournament brackets would look like if the season ended today.
We went through the OSAA Playoff Qualifications page to get the rules and laid out which teams are currently in position for automatic bids, at-larges and the teams who are close to those at-large bids.
League standings were determined by league winning percentage. Ties were broken first by any available head-to-head matchups, then by OSAA rank if head-to-head didn’t solve the tie.
If a team hasn’t played a league game yet, they weren’t considered for this projection in the league race. Leagues who haven’t played any league games yet were determined by overall record.
Rankings officially freeze on Feb. 21 for 3A, 2A and 1A, followed by 6A on Feb. 28 and 5A and 4A on March 4.
