The NFHS has published that Oceans was chosen as the NFHS Policy Debate Topic for 2014-15 with 24 of the 34 votes cast. Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its non-military exploration and/or development of the Earth's oceans.
The NFHS has published that Surveillance was chosen as the NFHS Policy Debate Topic for 2015-16 with 21 of the 36 votes cast. Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially curtail its domestic surveillance.

» NFHS Proposed Debate Topic Initial Ballot - 2015-16
Coaches should rank each Problem Area by choice; 1st Choice, 2nd Choice, etc.... The Problem Areas receiving the most first
and second place votes will be forwarded to a second ballot for an additional vote. The ballot includes a link to a synopsis of the different problem areas.

Coaches should choose only topic and resolution they prefer. The area that receives the most votes nationally will be the 2015-16 debate topic and resolution.
